Summary

Seasonal homes along the shore need careful preparation before cold weather sets in. This project involved a full fall service to winterize both plumbing and HVAC systems, along with a timely repair to a broken fitting discovered during the process.

The Work

Winterized plumbing by turning off water at the main, draining pipes, and shutting off water heater power and gas
Completed HVAC checklist and set heat to 62 degrees
Repaired a broken flu pipe joint in the ceiling by reglueing the fitting without new parts

The Outcome

The home is now protected against freezing temperatures and unexpected plumbing issues. Timely repairs and preventive steps help reduce the risk of winter damage and keep the property ready for use when warmer weather returns.
